Research Director, APAC - Canalys
Luping (Nicole) Peng oversees Canalys’ market-leading mobility-focused advisory services, focusing on the Chinese market and strategies of Chinese companies. She covers various research areas, including smart phones, tablets and wearables, and studies vendors’ business strategies, the mobile strategies of Internet service providers and operators, and ecosystem, channel and consumer trends, both in China and worldwide. She also leads the global quantitative research for Canalys’ Smart Phone Analysis services. She runs and contributes to a variety of consulting projects and is frequently quoted in the top-tier press.
Nicole joined Canalys in 2007 and established Canalys’ Chinese office in Shanghai in 2011. She heads up the Chinese office operation and manages a team of China-based and Singapore-based analysts to support Canalys’ worldwide analysis business unit.
Nicole obtained a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship from Nottingham University Business School. As part of her degree, she conducted research projects in a variety of business segments and developed business plans for new product commercialization. Nicole also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business from the University of Westminster and studied at Guangdong University of Foreign Study.
Nicole is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
